Activity 2. DEAR OH DEAR. Directions. Make a gratitude letter addressed to ilustrados indicating the importance of their writings in the attainment of nation’s freedom and in the development of Philippine literature. Use the template below.
Dear Ilustrados,
pahelp po please!
Answer:
Dear Ilustrados,
This is to inform you how grateful I am for your contribution to the Philippine literature and most importantly in achieving our freedom from the Spaniards. Your education has been a great factor to lead the Filipinos to be independent. Your writings and artwork helped the Filipinos to know what is really happening in our country during that time. Their nationalism was awakened because of the writings you had like La Solidaridad.
La Solidaridad had been a compilation of writings like asking for reforms from the King of Spain, updates on the situation in the Philippines, and ordinances in the Philippines. With your contributions, we had the national freedom that we have waited for a long time. As of the moment, your writings are also the basis of the development in literature.
Explanation:
Ilustrados are educated Filipinos usually from the upper class of the society who are peacefully asking for reform. Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal is the leader of the Ilustrado group. The group they formed is called “Kilusang Propagandista”. Other members of the group are Marcelo H. Del Pilar, Antonio Luna, Graciano Lopez Jaena, and Mariano Ponce.
