ANGLES

– The word “angle” refers to the figure formed when two rays are connected to a single starting point. The two connected rays will then become the sides of an angle, sharing one end point known as the angle’s vertex. Angles can also be formed by the intersection of two planes, known as dihedral angles.

Answers:

1. The angle in the given picture is an example of an acute angle because it is less than 90°.

2. The angles in number 2 are adjacent angles because they share a single side and vertex.

3. The angles in number 3 are equal adjacent angles because they have equal degrees.

4. The angles in number 4 are examples of unequal complementary adjacent angles. Both angles, when added, are equal to 90° (complementary), but each is a different degree.

5. The angles in number 5 are examples of two unequal supplementary adjacent angles. They are supplementary because when you add the two angles, they are equivalent to 180°.

6. The angles in number 6 are examples of two equal angles and their supplements. Both angles are 90° and a total of 180° when combined
